The Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering (GIEE) was expanded from the Environmental Engineering Division of the Department of Civil Engineering. Currently, there are 9 faculty members, 23 adjunct professors, 136 graduate students, and over 300 graduates in the GIEE. Up till now, the faculty still offer undergrad level courses in environmental engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering.

The GIEE offers complete curriculum and Master of Science, Doctoral, and part-time Master of Science degrees.  Besides, the GIEE also provides credit courses and environmental professional training courses.

With the efforts made in the past 20 years, the GIEE has become one of the most prestigious environmental institutions in Taiwan. Because of the multidisciplinary credentials of its faculty and the high quality of its research facilities, GIEE attracts high caliber students from a variety of engineering and science backgrounds. It also attains reputation for excellence from industry and government for the strong and unique engineering education received by the graduates.
